Jacksonville Classical Academy East starts Request for Proposal (RFP) process for food service.

Invitation to Proposal:

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the purpose of obtaining responses from caterers and vendors to provide meal services for Jacksonville Classical Academy East, Inc. (sponsor) (SFA). Child Nutrition Programs operated may include the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Afterschool Snack Program (ASP), and the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). Jacksonville Classical Academy East, Inc. (SFA/sponsor) is a public charter (public, charter, private) school located in Jacksonville, Florida.   1. Would you accept a digital proposal submission in lieu of a printed version?  
    No. Per the RFP, a hard copy is required for the public opening.
  2. Is your school planning on growing in enrollment in the next 1-5 years?
    Yes. We will add a grade each year up to 12th grade. 
  3. Can you provide a list, or photos, of the equipment in your kitchen accessible to the contractor?

    Jacksonville Classical Academy East is a new school start up. The academy will start accepting applications for Free & Reduced meals in July. 
  9. Is it possible to get pics of the kitchen?

  10. I see that the RFP states that there is only 50% participation.  Are all Students covered for the NSLP?
    All students are covered in the NSLP. Eligibility for the CEP program has not been determined at this time
  11. Also, your website states that the meals are free for this school year only.  Will you be 100% for next year?

  12. Who is your current food supplier (GFS, US Foods, ETC.)?

  13. Would you have staff currently working in your cafe that would be willing to interview for our company?

  14. What type of refrigeration units do you have onsite?
    (2) Reach-in Refrigerators and (2) Reach-in Freezers
  15. Are there cafe trays and silverware or disposables used by the students?
    No. The food program is served on disposables.
  16. Does the kitchen have double-stack commercial convection ovens?
    Yes, (1) double stack oven and a single oven. 
  17. Do you hold community catered events onsite?
    No.
