Welcome to Jacksonville Classical Academy East!
A TUITION-FREE PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL!
Jacksonville Classical Academy East is bringing excellent education to Jacksonville. At JXCE we will provide scholars with the tools necessary to learn, think, and articulate their thoughts. Our mission at Jacksonville Classical Academy East is to train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a classical education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue.
We will accomplish this mission by exposing our scholars to a time tested and true curriculum. Our scholars explore the greatest works of literature and poetry. While studying history, science, economics, and civics, they memorize facts, dates, names, places, and events. The scholars study foreign languages like Spanish and Latin, and learn about the greater things beyond themselves, and develop self-government skills and appreciation of the natural world. As a result of this wealth of knowledge, students can formulate reasonable and coherent opinions, write good arguments, and broaden the scope of their knowledge.
At Jacksonville Classical Academy East, our school culture is shaped by our pillars of virtue: courage, honesty, perseverance, self-government, service, courtesy, and responsibility. Providing scholars with a safe haven built on high expectations, mutual trust, and respect, we help them to gain wisdom and instill virtuous habits. Thus, when scholars enter our doors, they begin each day in an environment that encourages them to be excellent and to be the change they wish to see in their community and within the world.
Most importantly, at JXCE, we have a curriculum and school culture that embraces excellence, wonder, and joy. Every day in the classroom, excellence, wonder, and joy drives everything we do. Standardized tests do not drive the curriculum or determine what we teach. We aim to provide scholars with the tools necessary to be curious, creative, thoughtful, and engaged citizens who love learning for its own sake. As a result, scholars are equipped with the tools to be self-disciplined and intellectually competent, with strong moral character and civic responsibility.
I invite all parents who desire an excellent classical education for their scholar to apply, visit, or come to one of our upcoming parent information meetings to find out more about Jacksonville Classical Academy East.
